DEJA VU: ATALANTA VS MANCHESTER UNITED MATCH PREVIEW

Manchester United will be hoping to make it three wins in a row in the Champions League when they travel to Bergamo to face Italian side Atalanta.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side won the last time the two sides met thanks to a late Cristiano Ronaldo winner who topped off a thrilling comeback that saw United turn round a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2.

The Red Devils face a stern test in Italy against a well-organised Atalanta side who sit in fifth place in Serie A.

Solskjaer will be keen to win again following his sides 3-0 triumph over Tottenham on Saturday. Saturday’s fixture saw Solskjaer switch formations, and it had an immediate effect with his side keeping their first clean sheet since the end of August.

A win for the Reds would see them onto nine points which would put them on the edge of qualification with both Atalanta and Villarreal on four points.

Atalanta will be without the qualities of Berat Djimsiti, Roben Gosens, Rafael Toloi, Matteo Pessina and Hans Hateboer.

Jose Palomino is also doubtful due to a thigh injury which means Matteo Lovato could start again in a back three whilst midfielder Martin De Roon could be moved into a defensive position.

Paul Pogba is available for selection with him only being suspended in domestic competitions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should have a fully fit squad ahead of Tuesday’s fixture with only Edinson Cavani likely to be rested ahead of Saturday’s Manchester derby.
