INJURY UPDATE: EXETER BOSS GIVES TEAM NEWS AHEAD OF WEEKEND CLASH WITH BRADFORD

Exeter City will be looking to continue their impressive unbeaten streak as they travel to Valley Parade to take on Bradford City for the return of League two action.

The Grecians are unbeaten in 11 games, the most of any club in the top four divisions, and City boss Matt Taylor puts it down to the work ethic of his whole squad, while also giving credit to all the work done on the training ground.

“There’s competition for places, there’s hunger in this group which is giving everything at every opportunity.

“It feels like players can step in and step out at any given time and do a similar sort of job and that’s a testament to the way they’ve been coached, nurtured and developed during their time here”, said Taylor.

Despite their inconsistent start to the season, Bradford have hit ten goals in their last three games, having drawn a blank in the previous three, and it looks as though manager Stuart McCall has finally found his best eleven.

“They’ve got some really good players for this level and by the looks of it the manager has been searching for a formation and a system to fit these good players in and they seemed to have found that,” said Taylor.

As for team news, Taylor will be boosted by the nearing returns of two senior players who may be available for the trip North.

“Nigel Atangana and Alex Fisher have trained today (Thursday) for the first time.

“Realistically they won’t be in contention to start the game but two players who could affect the game from the bench,” Taylor added.

Meanwhile, both of City’s senior keepers are still unavailable for the fixture at the weekend, but Taylor is hopeful of some good news sooner rather than later.

“They’ve both been outside but not with the team, just individual work but it’s good to see them out and about.

“I actually think Jonny (Maxted) might be back earlier than Lewis (Ward) from what I can gather from the feedback from the physios but it’s not months away it’s certainly weeks away,” said Taylor.

The Bantams have some highly experienced football league players at their disposal, such as Lee Novak and Clayton Donaldson, and one of the best stadiums for this level, prompting Taylor to expect a thoroughly entertaining afternoon of football.

“At the start of the season you look at squads and the way managers assemble squads and you see good players at Bradford City.

“I want it to be a reflection of two really good teams for this level, a fantastic place to play football in terms of the stadium and the pitch and hopefully we can come out on top in that,” said Taylor

The aim on Saturday for Exeter will be to keep their unbeaten streak alive and push their way into the automatic promotion places, while Bradford will be hoping to continue the recent resurgence and capitalise on the rich vein of goal-scoring form they’re in.
