SENIOR SHAME: ARSENAL'S YOUNGSTER SCHOOLING REGULAR GUNNERS

Three games ago Arsenal were said to be in a relegation fight, in what was set to be one of the club’s worst seasons in living memory.

Now, after victories against Chelsea, Brighton and West Brom, the Gunners seem to have turned their season around, and it’s all thanks to the club’s youngsters.

Unlike in previous seasons, Arsenals main problem hadn’t been the amount of goals conceded but scoring them.

Mikel Arteta’s side desperately lacked creativity in midfield, with an attack characterised by sideways passing and the front three of Willian, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and £70 million flop Nicolas Pepe clearly not working.

The situation was dire, but then up stepped the club’s youngsters.

Bukayo Saka and Kieran Tierney have been decent all season, but Arteta’s recent switch of formation to 4-2-3-1 has hugely benefitted them, with both able to focus more on attacking.

Perhaps the player who has been the biggest difference maker though has been Emile Smith Rowe. The 20-year-old, after finally being given a chance by Arteta, has been the gunner’s main creative force.

The young Englishman has slotted in perfectly to the side, with 2 assists form his first three Premier League games this season.

These three youngsters have added some much-needed energy and creativity to a team previously lacking flair and imagination.

All this creativity wouldn’t be any good without someone to finish off the club’s attacks though, which is where Alexandre Lacazette comes in.

The Frenchman seems to have finally found some consistency after mostly being a bench warmer last season, with his brace against West Brom showing just how effective a forward he can be. Arsenal fans will be hoping that his good form continues against Crystal Palace on the 14th.

Speaking of bench warmers, Pepe and Willian haven’t been used much by Arteta in the clubs last three games. Is it a coincidence that the gunners have looked so good without them? I think not.

Both look to have little chance of a future with the club, with Gabriel Martinelli also likely to soon be threatening their places in the team.

Arsenal’s future is in good hands with the current crop of youth at the club. They have brought back hope to the club in its darkest hour.
