Serie A

Key Match: Sassuolo v Inter Milan

This weekend sees Italy’s top-scoring teams go head-to-head at the Mapei Stadium.

Sassuolo have been the surprise package in Serie A this season, the team is so far unbeaten, with their tremendous form seeing them rise up to second in the table, just behind leader’s AC Milan.

Meanwhile Inter have had an indifferent start, with this game giving them the opportunity to catch up to Sassuolo on points with a win, and stay in touch with leaders AC.

Antonio Conte’s side will have to be wary of Sassuolo’s potent attack. Francesco Caputo has 5 goals in 6 games for the Neroverdi this season, whilst Domenico Berardi is in the form of his life, grabbing 4 goals and 3 assists in 7 league games.

Meanwhile, Inter have been in great scoring form too, with Romelu Lukaku grabbing 7 goals in 7 league games.

Inter go into the match as clear favourites, but Sassuolo won’t mind being the underdogs, they are unbeaten for a reason so don’t be surprised if they manage to cause a surprise result.

Key Match: Bayern Leverkusen v Hertha Berlin

The title race in the Bundesliga is set to be very tight this season, with both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in great shape, but arguably Leverkusen should be involved in the conversation too.

The side are in third place on 18 points, just one off Bayern, and have five wins in their last five games, with their match against lowly Hertha this Sunday a perfect opportunity to keep their run going.

Hertha do have some quality, especially with Matheus Cunha in attack, so don’t expect them to go down without a fight, but Leverkusen should be too good for the Berlin side to beat.

Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz has created a formidable team by getting the best out of players who have underperformed in recent years.

Leon Baily looks back to his old self, scoring in back-to-back games for the first time in three years, and Lucas Alario upfront is finally living up to his potential, scoring 7 goals in 7 Bundesliga games so far.

Leverkusen aren’t just a team to watch this weekend, but a side to follow all season.

La Liga

Key Match: Real Sociedad v Villarreal,

Sunday 29th November, kick off 20:00

First go up against third in Spain this weekend, in what is sure to be a very entertaining match.

Villarreal are looking to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 2007, with their excellent transfer window over the summer giving them a good chance at achieving their goal.

The recruitment of Dani Parejo, Francis Coquelin and Takefusa Kubo has given them some much-needed quality in midfield, but it has been their strike partnership of Paco Alcacer and Gerard Moreno upfront which has pushed the yellow submarine up the table.

Alcacer has 5 goals in nine league games this season, whilst Moreno has 5 in eight.

If Villareal’s start to the season has been good though, Real Sociedad’s has been great.

The San Sebastian side are in first, have scored the most goals in La Liga, and have won their last six on the trot.

David Silva has been good for the side since joining in the summer, but it has been the form of Mikel Oyazabal that has been the main driving force behind their success.

The Spanish international is the league’s top scorer, with 6 goals and 2 assists in the league this season.

The match between the two sides on Sunday could be a thriller, and the result will have very big implications for who will finish in the top four this year.
