Exeter City have announced their second signing of the summer window as Callum Rowe arrives at St James Park following his departure from Aston Villa.
The left-back only made one appearance for Aston Villa, against Liverpool in the FA Cup, in which Rowe assisted Louie Barry to put Villa on the scoresheet.
Rowe has reguarly featured for Villa's under 23 team, and has tested himself against EFL opposition in the Papa Johns Trophy.
He has had one senior loan spell, helping Hereford FC to the FA Trophy final and gaining plenty of experience in the National League North.
Exeter City boss Matt Taylor was impressed by what he saw of Rowe following a trial period at the end of the 20/21 season, and the manager believes that the full-back has a bright future ahead of him.
"Callum came to train with us for a couple of reserve matches at the end of last season. He has a fantastic physical profile and he really impressed us.
"We saw enough of him to give him that opportunity. Callum is of a certain age where he will continue to learn, and we hope he can remain fully fit and influence this side.
"He has to master what is in front of him. Character and personality is a huge attribute at this football club and he certainly fits the bill."
Rowe is Exeter's second signing following from the arrival of Josh Coley, as the Grecians gear up for the start of an important League Two season.
