Seeing rumours that Paul Pogba wants to leave Manchester United is nothing new.

It seems like every year since the Frenchman arrived at Old Trafford, Pogba is linked to one of the big clubs like Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Most of the time these rumours seem like lazy journalism, in a similar vein to the Cristiano Ronaldo return to Manchester United stories we have seen for the last ten years.

However, this year it feels different, Manchester United have not particularly progressed since his arrival and have arguably regressed, and while Pogba has had plenty of great moments for United, there have often been times where the fans have wanted more from £89.3 million man.

The question is, where does Pogba go?

Real Madrid would seem the most realistic option, as Los Blancos look to make a statement signing on the way to get back to the top of football.

We all know that out of all the teams possibly interested, Zinedine Zidane’s side would be the most likely to afford it, as Real Madrid are not shy when it comes to bringing the chequebook out.

It would be a new league and country for Pogba, but when you are a player of his ability, you’d doubt he would struggle in a side like Real Madrid.

Moving to other half of the El Clasico is unlikely, as Barcelona are not exactly flushed with cash, and bringing in the World Cup winner is not going to be cheap.

He would certainly be a great addition to a Barca side looking to find some sort of identity and re-establish themselves as the top club in Spain.

The fairy-tale move would be back to Juventus, the club that took a chance on him when Pogba was released by Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2012, but Juve have spent a whole lot of money on new players over the past few years and would certainly need to sell at least a couple to afford the Frenchman.

Juventus was the club where Pogba played his best football, and caught the eye of the footballing world. A move there probably makes the most sense for Pogba, but can the Italian side afford to bring him back?

Of course, all this agent talk from Mino Raiola could just be smoke and mirrors to earn his client a new contract, and this would not surprise anyone.

While no one has seemed to figure out Pogba’s best position for the Red Devils, the midfielder has shown that he can be a catalyst to Manchester United’s success.

Look no further than his performance against West Ham, where in the second half, Pogba decided he wanted to win the game and curled the ball into the back of the net to level the scores, and United went on to win 3-1.

Regardless of whether Pogba stays or goes, there is no doubt every single transfer window for the rest of his career, we will wonder whether the Frenchman is set to depart the club he’s at for greener grass elsewhere.
