TALENT WATCH: TOP 5 UNDER THE RADAR YOUNGSTERS TO LOOK OUT FOR AT EURO U21

Under-21 competitions are a great way to watch the superstars of tomorrow, and also provide some thrilling matches.

From Sandro Tonali to Eduardo Camavinga, many fantastic young talents will be on display in Hungary and Slovenia this summer.

With countries already naming their squads for the competition, we take a look at some of the under the radar talents to keep your eye out for.

Noni Madueke (England and PSV Eindhoven)

Many well-known young players like Mason Greenwood and Emile Smith-Rowe have been named in Aidy Boothroyd’s squad for the tournament, but one talent not being mentioned much is 19-year-old Noni Madueke.

This is mainly down to the fact that he plays in the Netherlands, but the forward deserves much more attention.

At the time of writing Madueke has 9 goals and 8 assists from 26 games for PSV this season, making him one of the most potent teenagers in Europe.

These stats look even better compared to Boothroyd’s other options up front, with Greenwood getting just 2 goals in the Premier League so far.

Madueke moved abroad from Tottenham Hotspur in 2018, and the youngster’s bravery in choosing such a move had certainly paid off.

Expect him to be knocking on the door of the senior team very soon.

Youssoufa Moukoko (Germany and Borussia Dortmund)

Okay so Moukoko is already a very big name, but I thought it was significant that the youngster has been called up for Germany for this tournament.

The country are clearly trying to nail him down to the national team early to stop any chance of him playing for the other nation the 16-year-old is eligible for, Cameroon.

For those who aren’t familiar with this potential generational talent, Moukoko has already made his senior debut for Dortmund, becoming the youngest ever scorer in Germany in the process.

Before this, in just 3 games for Dortmund’s under 19’s, he scored 10 goals.

He truly is one of the most phenomenal youngsters in the world, and has the potential to be a standout performer at the tournament this summer

Pedro Goncalves (Portugal and Sporting Lisbon)

Most players on this list are showing great potential, but Goncalves is arguably already one on the best midfielders in Europe.

The Portuguese attacking midfielder has led Sporting to the top of the Primera Liga, with the side likely to win their first title since 2002.

The 22-yeear-old has 20 goal involvements in 26 games for the club this season, a record comparable to Bruno Fernandes before he moved to Manchester United.

Already linked with many top clubs, expect his price to skyrocket if he performs well at the tournament this summer.

Oscar Mingueza (Spain and Barcelona)

Though Barcelona are in a transitional season, one silver lining has been the performances of the clubs youngsters.

With the club’s usual centre back options putting in some embarrassing performances this season, Mingueza has come in and helped stabilise the back line.

The La Masia graduate has now made 30 appearances for the club this season, with his performances leading to him already becoming an essential part of the team at just 21-years-old.

Expect him to put in similar performances for his country come the tournament later this year.

Moussa Diaby (France and Bayern Leverkusen)

With names like Camavinga, France’s squad for the tournament has many stars, but one to definitely keep an eye on is 21-year-old Diaby.

Already one of the best wingers in the Bundesliga, Diaby was subject to interest from United last summer.

He has 21 goal involvements in 35 games for Leverkusen so far this season, making him already one of the most effective attackers in Europe.

Extremely pacey and with a great cross on him, he’ll cause havoc to defences in the summer.
