Chelsea have been a surprise thus far since Thomas Tuchel took over the helm at Stamford Bridge. Going 11 games unbeaten in all competitions, and maintaining five straight Premier League home clean sheets aren’t records to be taken lightly especially in a situation the German took over. Now placing fourth in the league, inches behind Leicester City and Manchester United, the Blues are surely up to no good for their rivals.

Tuchel has been surprising everyone with the line-up he is utilizing every match. Being a new manager means giving everyone a chance to prove themselves for the club, and he has not failed to meet expectations in this avenue. Surely, many players who haven’t seen much minutes in the Lampard era have regained their confidence and form in the past few games.

With the club’s paradigm shift towards utilizing their players, many are now truly witnessing the deep line-up of Chelsea wherein almost everyone can be relied on. This is a big positive point to look at especially in a tight race for top four places in the Premier League.

Captain Cesar Azpilicueta is truly delighted to see how the Blues have responded to the demands of victory to regain composure.

“From the striker to the goalkeeper the team is working very hard. Everyone is doing their dirty job. If you see the way we fight for the ball, the way the strikers press the ball and allow the defenders to push the line high, it’s dangerous. I’m very happy with that because you need that effort in the Premier League”, the Spanish said according to the Chelsea official site.

He also noted the hard work of every player during training to fight for their place in the starting eleven. This holds true to every top club. With the German’s new set of play style, everyone was given hope to don the blue kit in top competitions.

With the spotlight mostly on the gaffer for their recent form, he stated that the credit should be mostly on the players who really exert the effort on the field.

“There is no other way to express myself than with strong team performances and I’m so happy to be on the sidelines here. I’m very happy with the unbelievable attitude my players have shown both towards training and games. I feel the bond that is shown from each player is at the exact necessary level needed to be successful”, said Tuchel.

Consistency will now be the challenge for the German to keep the Blues in Champions League sights next season. Surely, they will not wait for the unfortunate results of other teams just to gain advantage. He will work his own magic to make wonders for Chelsea.
