Perry Ng

Crewe Alexandra To Cardiff City

Perry Ng is going to leave Crewe Alexandra in January, with a move to Championship side Cardiff City imminent, as Crewe manager David Artell has recently confirmed. As his contract was running out with the Railwaymen, Cardiff have managed to secure a bargain as Ng has moved for just £250,000. Primarily a right back, Ng has played across the back four and just in front of the defence, making 183 appearances for Crewe. He fits the bill as a modern-day full back who is efficient in the final third and has received immense praise from Artell and others involved with Crewe for his tremendous work rate on and off the pitch, making him a great fit for Neil Harris’s side.

Luke Jephcott

Plymouth Argyle To The Championship

If Plymouth Argyle have scored a goal, you normally assume Luke Jephcott is the one who has scored it. Sitting as the League One joint-top goalscorer, with 13 goals in 18 games, it is hard to remember that Jephcott only broke into the Argyle team in January 2020 after a spell on loan at tier seven Truro City. Ryan Lowe has described him as being ‘the hottest property in the country’ and you can certainly see why he believes that. A clinical finisher with great movement on and off the ball, Jephcott has gone from a well thought of prospect to one of the best strikers in League One, maybe even the EFL. With 21 goals in 34 appearances since his return from Truro, Jephcott is a man in form and any Championship club worth their salt should be trying to bring the Welsh forward in.

Joel Randall

Exeter City To Celtic

Exeter City have had a consistent string of young players come through their academy and move on to better things in recent years. The likes of George Friend, Matt Grimes, Christy Pym, Jordan Storey, Ethan Ampadu and Ollie Watkins have all impressed at a higher level after coming through the Grecians academy. The next player from the so called ‘conveyor belt’ is Joel Randall. The 21-year-old has had five loan spells at five different clubs before getting a real chance to establish himself as a first team player, but he has taken his opportunity and been a standout player in Matt Taylor’s goal friendly side. With eight goals and five assists, Randall has been a danger down the left-hand side for Exeter and links up superbly with both Matt Jay and Ryan Bowman in the Grecians attack. With Celtic and Swansea reportedly showing interest, it will not be long until Randall follows in the footsteps of his academy predecessors and heads up the football pyramid.

Lewis Montsma

Lincoln City To The Eredivsie

When Lincoln City signed Lewis Monstma on a free transfer after a spell at second division Dutch side FC Dordrecht, not many would have heard of the Dutchman. But come January, Monstma is one of the best central defenders in League One and Lincoln City’s second top goal scorer. The Dutch centre back has a big presence at six foot four and under the management of Michael Appleton, has improved his technical game. Appleton has spoken about Monstma’s Premier League potential and although no clubs have made their interest clear, you would have to assume many Championship and Eredivsie sides are taking note of Montsma’s progress for the Imps.
